Hi guys,

this issue pops up on the list every once in a while, but somehow. Most
recently in September. I am trying to use a webcam for an experiment where
I need to measure the amount of light scattered by an object. For this, I
need to switch off all image preprocessing. According to a post by Paulo on
september 22nd, one should be able to do this from guvcview. However, I
cannot find the controls for this in the gui.

I have also tried other approaches. I downloaded the most recent version
of libv4l2 and installed it. I then downloaded the most recent uvcdynctrl
and compiled it. However, in that case, cmake tells me it will not enable
RAW support, because v4l2 does support string type controls, which it
does, because I installed the latest version.

Perhaps the problem is my driver versions. I am running on ubuntu 12.04,
which is currently at kernel 3.5.0. I don't know if that make a
difference.

I am at a loss and considering paying 300 euros for a so-called scientific
camera sold by Thorlabs. But I would really prefer to solve it with the
camera I have.

Thanks for your help guys!

best,
Dries
