thank you so much for starting and maintaining this project!
because of you i skipped a week of work finding a compatible usb webcam.
with this project, i was able to go to bestbuy and get a compatible camera. When i plugged in the camera, cheese didnt know about it. turned out it was because i had installed droidcam. i uninstalled it, rebooted, and cheese had to problem reading the webcam. even the web browsers (which always seem to have problems with webcams on linux) had no problem here.
thanks again for everything you all do. if it helps, i bought a logitech c525. Im running linux mint 13 (basically ubuntu 12.04). kernal is 3.2.0-23-generic.
