I wanted to confirm that the patch recommended in
http://sourceforge.net/p/linux-uvc/mailman/message/29835445/ works (even
though it's 2 years old). I applied to my 3.13.0-24-generic kernel on
Ubuntu 14.04, and it recognized my Tasco (Aveo chipset) USB microscope
with product id 0516.

My exact patch (ignore the index, it's a local repo) is:
