hello

i'm french veterinarian, i use a Wireless digital microscope (Firefly
Global DE551 / infoxelle 21cd:0403)

it's run on windows, but i want to put all my clinics on open source os
(thin client on raspberry Pi2 for exemple)

the manufacturer only say that the device is uvc compliant but it's not
(not in the list and not working with guvcview, cheese or motion)

i give you my dmesg command response :

[ 1368.056114] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-pci
[ 1368.198734] usb 1-3: New USB device found, idVendor=21cd, idProduct=0403
[ 1368.198747] usb 1-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=2, Product=1,
SerialNumber=3
[ 1368.198756] usb 1-3: Product: Wireless Digital Microscope
[ 1368.198764] usb 1-3: Manufacturer: Infoxelle Co. Ltd.
[ 1368.198771] usb 1-3: SerialNumber: VTRV403BB

I guess you can help me

Best regards

Fred

I think it might help if you post the output of
"sudo lsusb -v" for this device. And you might try to force uvc driver
to bind to it with something like

echo 21cd:0403 | sudo tee /sys/module/uvcvideo/drivers/usb\:uvcvideo/new_id
