Hi,
I'm using Fedora 24 on an Acer Travelmate 5744 laptop. This laptop has a
built-in webcam with the usb-ID 04f2:b209 (Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd).
In principle, the webcam does work, however, I only get very blurry
images - there seems nothing on the image that is focused.
I've attached one example image from me at a normal distance to the camera.
As you can see this makes video-chatting quite useless.
I've found and started the v4l2ucp program. This program starts with the
following error:
"Unable to get control
Unable to get Exposure, Auto Priority
Input/Output Error"
If I try to manipulate this item with v4l2ucp, I get the same error. I
do think that the following dmesg log line is related (but I can do a
more controlled test, if necessary):
Failed to query (GET_CUR) UVC control 3 on unit 1: -32 (exp. 1).
I've also attached the lsusb.log (although lsusb complains that it
"Couldn't open device, some information will be missing". There is
plenty of information there, though.)
I appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Thomas
