Discussion:
[linux-uvc-devel] Using multiple webcams on the 1 USB bus

Hi,

Before I spend time composing a concise email I would first like to ask
if anyone on this email list cares about enabling as many Webcams as
possible on 1 USB bus or are you all prepared to let the uvcvideo driver
software limit what is possible rather than the hardware which is
(should be ?) the higher cost component.

Regards,

Stuart.

I most definitely care about this, and can we please get some more support
for Stuart's excellent work here? It really
is a travesty that the software limits a USB bus to ONE webcam when it can
support THREE or more with the proper
corrections to the driver.

Thx.

Of course we care, especially with those capable but
small-factor/embedded/port-limited machines.

Hi,

Having had no response to 5 carefully worded emails after Reik and I did
2 man weeks of work on this I would have to conclude that there are no
developers listening.

Regards,

Stuart.

If you look at the archives for this list there are very few posts per month and it appears to have suffered something of a decline.

Maybe try the linux-media developer list instead?

I also have a problem with my webcam and mic for more than a year now
without success or response on this mailing list

It's a shame, it's a mid end Lenovo Thinkpad which always had A+ linux
support but not just won't work

ah well, i don't need it anyways
