Hello,

I see that there are many Logitech cameras supported, but I have a
Logitech HD Pro C920 that I am trying to use with an intel edison. I have
uvc installed, but when I try to confirm if it is a uvc recognized device,
I do not get any feedback like they have in the setup documentation.

Additionally, I have purchased a USB CMOS camera from Alibaba Express like
this
<http://surveillance-equipment.en.alibaba.com/product/60132924272-221727535/5MP_autofocus_cmos_mini_USB_camera_Module_OV5640_ELP_USB500W02M.html>
and
was wondering if it could be uvc supported as well.

Thank you!

Greetings,

The Logitech C920 camera has decent support in Linux using most capture
formats including MJPEG. However, there is a bug that causes the frames to
be assigned an incorrect timestamp / or be delivered out of order only when
using v4l2 and capturing in the H.264 format (gstreamer using the
uvch264src source does not present the same bug, but has other stability
issues). This bug won't present itself unless you're capturing the H.264
video stream, so applications like Google Hangout or Skype will work just
fine.
