I have a Samsung NP700G7C-T02TH notebook, and have been unable to get my
webcam to be recognized. Samsung tells me it is a MCNEX SC_20FHL11146M,
and I think the correct product:vendor id should be 058f:3823 with Alcor
Micro Corp being the correct vendor.
Will uvc provide support for this webcam in the near future, or is there
some way I can do something to enable it?

It worked when windows 8 was on the computer, but the only drivers I can
find are for windows, and currently no Linux command shows it to exist
at all.

Please read the FAQ:
http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/faq/

There is some information there on how to identify whether it is a UVC
device, and how to get more information onto this list.

Thanks,
Moritz
